So you may have noticed that little link button to the right there that says “View My Registry” in girly scripty font.
If you haven’t, no worries. We aren’t keeping score. But look over there quick! —>
Anyway.
About a month or so ago, when I was building my registries, I ran into a dilemma. All the necessity things I was finding easily at Babies R Us. Unfortunately, the nursery theme we picked out, Classic Pooh, was only available at Target. So I had to have two registries. Then I found gDiapers and added that to my Target registry because of pricing and selection but Target didn’t carry all the gDiaper stuff we wanted.
Plus there was the odd Butterfly wall decor here and the Belly Bandit there and here’s all our IKEA nursery furniture and, pretty soon, my baby bookmarks folder was filled with links to sites of products that we want and figured we’d just buy out of pocket. Which we probably still will for most of them.
The point is, I remember laying on the couch a month ago chatting with Stephen and saying something to the effect of, “Wouldn’t it be cool if there was a website out there that acted as one big huge master registry for big events where you could pull from sites all over the internet to build it?” We even discussed how it would work and cool features it would have.
My dumb arse didn’t even think to see if something like that already existed.
Fast-forward to last night when I couldn’t sleep. After laying in bed staring at the ceiling for an eternity, I finally gave up and went back to the computer to just play around until I got tired. For some reason, the master registry idea popped back into my head and, on a whim, I googled “all in one registry.”
That’s when I found MyRegistry.com.
Yeah, I facepalmed a little.
After making sure it was legit and stable and actually affiliated with real stores, I started moving things over – one by one – from Babies R Us and Target and Amazon. Then I added my little odds n ends from around the internet and, by 6am, came up with my aforementioned brilliant idea of a master registry list.
I was a genius – just too late with the idea.
Thankfully, the shower invites weren’t printed yet so we were able to make the change on them. I’m hoping it’s all pretty straightforward to our shower guests – Stephen went through it and said it seemed easy but, then again, he lives in 1′s and 0′s.
I’m pretty excited about it, actually. It’s nice to be able to price shop and compare things and put the best item on the registry no matter what website it’s coming from. And it’s really nice to have everything we want to get (now or eventually) in one place. So nursery theme, necessities, cool toys and gadgets, baby gear, organic fluff and diapers are all in one list.
Pretty cool, huh?

Congrats on the upcoming bundle.
I didn't discover "My Registry" until I was almost through the pregnancy. It's a great service. Great choice on G-Diapers. We uses them and love them. Babies look too cute in them.
Stopping by via SITS.
