The massive nursery painting project was crossed off the to-do list as of 5pm today. The room is painted, aired out (mostly) and cleaned, ready for the next phase – IKEA shopping!
I cannot express how awesome it is to have this done. I’d set the goal of end of February to have the painting done, figuring we’d need lots of time. Here we are, four days before the end of the month and done! It’s so relieving in the midst of all the other uncontrollable chaos going on right now, to have something that I can check off and breathe easier about.
So check out the pics and let me know what you think of our painting. It’s not the most professional job in the world but I’m pretty proud of it. I laugh because my daughter now has has one of the coolest looking rooms in the house and she won’t even use it for 3-5 months. But it is what it is and it satisfies my nesting instincts (which are in overdrive at the moment).

I’ll post more when we get furniture set up. Hopefully we’re going to IKEA next week to spend our gift cards. I’m really excited about this part, too. I’m mostly excited about the fact that I have an excuse to not lift any boxes. Have you tried to lift a box from IKEA?
Yeah, no way.
In other news, I had my 28 week appointment on Monday and it went well. My tummy is the “right” measurement and my BP is good and everything else seems healthy. My midwife suggested that I drink more water to help with my headaches and some of the pain I’m dealing with. She said some of the pressure and pain in my back and hips could be caused by minor dehydration which leads to an “irritated uterus” apparently. So I’m trying to drink more.
It’s so hard to do. Have you ever tried to drink 8-10 glasses of water in a day? Try it and then get back to me.
Another suggestion she made was to get a maternity support belt to lift my belly a little and ease the pressure. The baby hasn’t dropped yet, she’s still swimming around pretty high, but the weight of my tummy is pulling and putting strain on my hips. Couple that with my already existing back issues and you have a cranky momma-to-be nearly every evening now. I ordered one when we got home so hopefully that will help.
Now that the painting is done, I can get back to my spring cleaning after resting for a little while. I only have a little bit left then it’s just maintenance between now and D-Day.
So much still to do but I feel very accomplished!

Looks great, but what a lot of work. Guess the exercise is good too.

Tristina – I love the paint job you did in the nursery! What a great combination of colors and I love the sharp lines…Olivia is so lucky to have such a fun room to play in! I can't wait to see how it looks when you get the furniture set up in there…be sure to post pictures when it's all set up!

That turned out fantastic!! I can't wait to see it in person. What I really can't wait for is to see my granddaughter in person! (and you guys too.) =)
