Thanksgiving Vacation

Seeing how, being pregnant, I’m starving pretty much all the time, Thanksgiving is a holiday I’ve been MOST looking forward to.  I cannot wait to dive into dinner and introduce the baby to the wonders that is home-cooked holiday nosh.  This year, we’re heading up to St. Louis to spend the holidays with my family.  I’ve been looking forward to this trip for months as I get to see my family maybe once a year.

The other exciting bit of news is that I get to meet my newborn nephew!  My brother’s second son was born Wednesday night, November 18, so he’ll only be a few days old by the time we get to see him.  I didn’t get to see Benjamin (Ryan’s firstborn) until he was almost three months old so getting to see Christian as a newborn baby will be quite a wonderful experience.

We are also taking Max on his first ever long car trip.  Thank goodness we upgraded to an SUV last week as making a 9 hour drive with a (probably) neurotic puppy in a coupe would have been hell on toast.  This way, we’ll have room to put his bed in the back and he’ll have plenty of space to move around and his own windows to look out.  I’m hoping, after an hour or so, he’ll calm down a bit and just ride.

We shall see.

All that to say, no news for the next week as we’ll be “on the farm” but, when we get back, we’ll have more belly pics as I’ll be at 16 weeks while we’re up there!
