I thought on the first pregnancy, you didn’t get the belly until much later. I mean, I’m not visibly enormous but there’s a pooch and enough of a pooch to wave a sad farewell to my really awesome White House Black Market skinny jeans.
Sigh.
In other news, we’ve begun talking about a variety of subjects – a house, a new car, his job, putting away money for the kid’s college, names, shopping… All excellent conversations and I’m glad we’re starting to talk about them now.
Speaking of shopping, we’ve already (yes, already) begun to notice things at the store we like. We’ve pretty much picked out a furniture set from IKEA. They have a really inexpensive set that has pieces (namely the bed and the dresser) that readjust as your child grows so they’ll last longer. This furniture set could easily last 4-5 years if taken care of properly.
For example, here’s the crib/bed (click on it to see bigger version):
How cool is that? The dresser/cabinet has a changing table top piece that converts to a drawer when you don’t need it anymore. The rest of the set consists of a tall shelf, a wall shelf and a wardrobe that all fit together seamlessly to create a space-saving wall unit.
Other than that, nothing else has really been a “we have to get that” sighting. We’ve tentatively started putting together a wishlist on Target.com (which my mother already purchased from) filled with mostly ideas. I’m sure it’ll get more definitive once we find out the gender.
That’s the major update from here. My cool find of the week was the bottle of liquid prenatal vitamins at Whole Foods. Mix it with your favorite drink and, bam, vitamins without the stomach upset. I’m quite pleased with this.
Nothing really more until the next OB visit and ultrasound and tests on November 4th. They say it’ll be several hours since they’re doing all the “is your baby completely healthy” tests. Neither Stephen nor I have any occurrences of major diseases or defects in our family (that we know of) so we’re hoping everything turns out okay.
Oh, names you ask?
Girl: Olivia Lynn
Boy: Andrew Lee
