12 Weeks! Bye Bye First Trimester

The first three months have officially come and gone – six more to go!  I am already feeling a lot better and a little more awake.  It’s still hard to get out of bed in the morning, but, honestly, when is it not?

The baby bump is definitely there so I will be shopping for looser fitting pants and skirts in the near future.  My first OB appointment with my new OB is next week and I’m excited.  I have a ton of questions and it’ll be at the hospital I’ll deliver the little one.

Despite several people telling me they’re pretty sure I’m having a boy (how they know, I have no clue), I’ve had a few dreams that it’s a girl.  Passing her around, holding her, etc.  Stephen wants a boy and I want a girl.  We’ll be thrilled no matter what the gender is, but it’ll be fun to see “who gets what they want” for the first one.  Ideally, we’d like one of each eventually.

The cravings have been fun and have ranged from deli sandwiches to pie.  Nothing extraordinarily weird….yet.  Stephen has been pretty good about getting the food that I’m craving, especially when I’m sick because we both know if I’m craving it, it’s the only thing I’ll eat.  He has drawn the line at going to the grocery store at 3am to get me candy corn.

He’s so mean.

In other news, we’re still in a bit of a holding pattern as far as a house is concerned.  Our current lease takes us all the way to next August so I’m not too worried about it.  Right now, we’re looking forward to the holidays and hoping that Stephen’s job can stable out a bit.  Unfortunately, his industry is already up and down enough without the current economy adding another wrench into it.  Our hope is that, early next year, we can actively begin looking for a larger home to purchase.  I miss Decatur a lot and would absolutely love to go back there.  Plus the schools are excellent.

That was totally a mom sentence.

Oi.
